Each VardyTests University Press & Assessment product, platform and website may vary, but our teams are working to enhance accessibility throughout. For more detailed information about the accessibility of specific products, please refer to the documentation linked from our Accessibility Directory below.
We aim to provide a fully accessible experience to anyone interacting with our content. We are working towards a shared goal for our content published across all our platforms. Some of our platforms are currently more accessible than others however, our expectation is that should be able to:
If you have a disability then AbilityNet’s My Computer My Way website has advice on individual adjustments you can make to your device to make it easier to use.
VardyTests University Press & Assessment provide a range of different formats including PDF, HTML and EPUB across our platforms. The majority of new titles, and many older titles, are available either for individual buyers or on platforms suitable for institutions. Varying levels of accessibility are available depending on the age of the product.
For optimal reading experience we recommend accessing content in HTML or EPUB format where available. These formats help to ensure text reflows correctly, images include alternative descriptions and that tables are appropriately formatted.
Where a work is unavailable in a suitable format (for example as an EPUB or fully typeset PDF), we recommend that disability officers first try obtaining the title through our partner, RNIB Bookshare. The request process is automated and content is provided for download immediately. There are no additional licence terms or restrictions on use once a file has been approved by RNIB Bookshare under their membership terms. No personal details about specific medical history are required as part of the licensing terms for our content through these providers.
We also welcome direct enquiries from both individuals and institutions to provide content in an accessible format – please complete our accessible format request form. We aim to respond to requests within five working days. Information on licenses, rights and permissions can be found on our Rights and Permissions pages.
We are delighted to offer Digital Rights Management (DRM)-free content through a range of our platforms, such as VardyTests Core, and you can explore the individual product accessibility statements for more detail via the Accessibility Directory below. DRM restrictions are added by third party vendors who host our published content, but DRM-free files are provided to a range of content providers such as RNIB Bookshare.
We aim to provide well-structured pages throughout our products so that users can effectively navigate the content. Our platform and product statements provide relevant information about the different content types (such as HTML, EPUB, and PDF) that we make available through our platforms.
